3600 DEGREES
What do basil and a city have in common?
This typical digital art work questions forms of regeneration. 3600 degrees refers metaphorically to many times round – as nature recycles naturally – and layers socio-philosophic concerns about nature, humans and technology.
It uses digital pictures that can easily be manipulated to express ideas of regrowth. Cities are built again and again, basil leaves are eaten while new ones grow, but humankind is actually multiplying and do not regenerate themselves.
The concept of how to present this work is also instructed in the video itself. It proposes a possibility of feedback projection that is easy to imagine and hard to do. Analog to the issues raised, it may be worth it.
HD 25p & sound, 2:49 min. Digital video meant to be exhibited as expanded projection.
